Forget about the myths that we can not clean our blankets at home. You can clean your wool blankets at home by following a few simple instructions.
First make sure your washing machine can fit your blanket. If your blanket does not fit properly it will not get washed properly. If the blanket has a stain spread the blankets out on the floor, put some detergent on the stain and brush with a cloth brush. The cloth brush will help prevent distortion of the blanket. When washing use cold water and make sure your detergent is designed for cold water. You don't want there to be residue on your blanket from detergent that does not dissolve in cold water.
If the blanket doesn't fit into machine you can hand wash the blanket to get it clean. This can be done by putting the blanket spread out in the tub and rub with soft nylon brush. Rinse the blanket and press on it to get the water out. Or you can roll up by squeezing out the access water.
You must know how to dry your blanket. First take a towel and clean the table and then flatten the blanket out on top and stretch it to its original shape. Hang the blanket on the strong line of ropes or strung cloths so that it doesn't fall. Now your wool blanket is washed and cleaned and you did not have to give your money to the dry cleaner.
