How to Make Knot Fleece Blankets

There are a few different ways to make knot fleece blankets. I will try to go over all the different ways I know. These blankets are great for people who do not know how to sew and make a wonderful gift.

Instructions
Things Youll Need:
At least 1.5 yards of fleece, depending on the project
     Scissors

1 Cut off the selvage on edges of the fleece, this is the bumpy wavy edge.

2 Along the length of the blanket mark even spaces one inch apart. Mark two inches in. This will be how spaced out and how deep your fringes will be.

3 Cut the fringe being careful to be sure it is evenly cut.

4 For the classic knot fleece blanket: Cut the fringe 4 deep. Lay two pieces of fabric lined up with the front (if there is a difference) on the outside. On one side of the blanket tie over hand knots (using one fringe from each fleece.) Tie these knots on every other fringe around the entire blanket. Flip the blanket over and tie all the reminding fringes with overhand knots.

5 To make a Picket Fence & Bunny Ears blanket cut the corners of each of the fringes around the blanket so they look like little picket fences. Cut a little slit at the base that is no more than 1/4 inch long. Pull the fringe though the creating a bunny ear look.

6 You can make jungle grass blankets by cutting one corner of every fringe.

7 Another method using one piece of fleece is to cut 1/2 slits in pairs along the narrow sides of the fleece. Then cut 1/2 x 6 strips of fleece. Thread these strips through the slits and tie.

8 For the classic knot fleece blanket: Cut the fringe 4 deep.

9 For a one piece fleece super fringe blanket cut strips of fleece 1/4 inch to 3/8 inch by 6 inches long. About one inch from the edge of the blanket cut slits about a half an inch long. Thread the strips through these and tie them around the edge of the blanket. To make them curly cut so the stretch of the blanket goes the length of the strip.
