Depending on your personal preferences, the perfect blanket will either be of natural or synthetic fabric, and both types have their advantages.

Natural fabrics tend to breathe well and last a long time, and can be soft and cosy for most people.  An example of a natural fabric is cotton, which washes really well, so if you are putting it in the washing machine every week, a blanket in cotton would be an ideal choice.  Pure cotton may cost a little more, but it will last a long time.

Another natural fiber is wool, which is ideal when you are seeking warmth and long lasting quality.  The good thing about wool is that even when damp it insulates, and dirt tends not to stick as easily on the fibers, so these blankets need less washing and tend to look good even when they are well used.

Man-made fabrics generally offer great value for budget conscious customers, and can offer warmth and durability as well as a cheaper price tag.  An example is acrylic which is a lot cheaper than wool or cotton, great for people with allergies, soft, cosy, and warm.

The most popular type of acrylic fabric is fleece and there are really good ranges for customers on a budget, where you get good value combined with durability and good quality.

As well as the fabric, when choosing a blanket it is important to think about how warm you need it to be.  Fleece blankets are ideal because they allow for both warm and cold climates as they trap body heat when it is cold, and allow breathability in warmer climates

The colour of your blanket is a further factor to take into consideration.  Consider the colour scheme of your home or the environment where the blanket will be used.  If the blanket is to be given as a gift, or used as a promotional item, think carefully about the home or business it is likely to end up in - neutral colours which are easy on the eye are much more likely to be welcomed by the recipient than more unusual shades.

Stylistically, a throw blanket is generally warmly received as a gift or as part of a promotion for your business, as throws are much more flexible in their use due to their size. Most throws are 50" x 60" which makes them suitable for a variety of uses, such as an accessory for the couch, for use in the car, or as a decorative item.

In addition to throws, there are other sizes of blanket available which may better fit your needs, or those of your customers where you are using blankets as promotional items. Again, fleece works well as a budget gift which will last well and look good.  In addition to twin bed sizes, there is also queen or full blankets, king and in some cases super king.
